Voices of Inspiration

During the opening ceremony, the Guest of Honor from the Ministry of Sports Mr. Emilien Bisangabagabo delivered a powerful message that resonated deeply with all attendees:

"As athletes, you are not only symbols of strength and excellence, but also ambassadors of peace. Let us always stand united in solidarity — to remember the past, to reject all forms of division, and to actively fight against genocide ideology. Through sports, we build bridges and shape a future rooted in respect, dignity, and togetherness."

The Secretary General of the Rwanda National Olympic and Sports Committee Mr. Joseph Kajangwe commended the young swimmers for their outstanding performances:

"I am truly impressed by the level of talent, energy, and dedication we have seen today. Rwanda’s future in aquatic sports is incredibly promising. We must continue nurturing this talent and supporting these young athletes to rise to the international stage. Congratulations to all the swimmers for your brilliance and bravery in the pool."

The President of the Rwanda Aquatics Federation Madam Cynthia Munyana closed with heartfelt gratitude, acknowledging the collective spirit behind the tournament’s success:

"To the parents who cheer tirelessly, to the coaches who train with passion, and to every swimmer who dived into the water with courage thank you. You have all made this event a success. Your presence today is proof that swimming in Rwanda is growing stronger and more inspiring than ever before."

 Remembering with Purpose

In an emotional and dignified moment, Mako Sharks Swim Club joined fellow clubs at the Kibagabaga Genocide Memorial in Kimironko Sector. Together, we mourned the innocent lives lost in Genocide Against the Tutsi in 1994, laid flowers at the memorial, and stood in unity to affirm our commitment: Never again.

It was a reminder that while we chase medals and break records, we must also uphold values of humanity, peace, and solidarity. This tournament was more than a competition, it was a call to Remember, Unite, Renew and to lead with purpose.

Moving Forward Together as Mako Sharks Community

At Mako Sharks, we are not just a team. We are a family — driven by excellence, compassion, and community spirit. Our Eighth trophy is a symbol of our legacy, and a challenge to keep striving for more.

To our swimmers: You are our champions.
To our coaches and parents: You are our pillars.
To our fans and supporters: You are our pride.
